Censorship Industrial Complex On The Run

Last week, I had the honor of testifying for the third time to the House Judiciary Committee on the Censorship Industrial Complex (CIC) alongside Matt Taibbi and Rupa Subramanya. Due to our persistent work, the committee's oversight, and President Trump’s recent orders, the CIC is on the defensive.

Yet there is much work to do globally, with the most threatening force currently coming from Europe, where CIC organizations and lead actors are retreating in hopes of weaponizing the Digital Services Act and other legislation for global censorship. I urged Congress to find other ways to reduce the exposure of American social media users and companies to the threat of censorship from Europe, Britain, Brazil, and other nations.

I was invited by BBC to discuss Vice President Vance’s recent speech at the Munich Security Conference, where he criticized rising EU censorship. I emphasized the need to protect the shared fundamental Enlightenment value of free speech and argued that accurate information is the only solution to misinformation.

I also testified before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, where I brought attention to USAID’s efforts to take control of independent investigative journalism and advocate for censorship and Digital ID.

Other CW Updates

It has been a busy year so far! President Trump’s Executive Orders to end censorship, end the medical malpractice of so-called “gender-affirming care” for minors, and review the federal government’s leasing and permitting practices for industrial wind projects are welcomed by those of us who have been fighting to uphold the pillars of civilization. At CW, we are riding the current momentum to achieve our pro-human, pro-civilization goals.

Free Speech

• Over the past few years we, and others, blew the whistle on government coercion of social media companies to censor dissent. We exposed the unnerving degree to which Western elites got on the wrong side of this most sacred value. And it seems to finally be catching up with them.

• The resignation of global totalitarian poster-child Justin Trudeau as leader of Canada’s Liberal party left the Online Harms Act in the dust.

• Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, is now ostensibly supporting free speech. But the reality is that we cannot rely on him. We need a free speech movement. And that movement consists first and foremost of you.

Gender

• CW’s 2024 WPATH Files report exposing the activist driven pseudoscience behind the World Professional Association of Transgender Health, once considered the leading global scientific and medical authority on “gender-affirming care,” has been instrumental in ending the medical experimentation on minors in the U.S.

• The January 28th, 2025 EO specifically derides the “junk science” derived from WPATH guidance.

• Our work is still cut out for us. In 16 states plus the District of Columbia, lawmakers are creating “shield” laws to protect doctors and other medical professionals engaged in “gender-affirming care” from legal liability.

• A central responsibility of civilization is to reproduce itself by protecting the welfare of children. CW will continue to push for the protection of society’s most vulnerable, remaining grounded in objective evidence.

  Energy and Environment

• I sat down with Tucker Carlson to discuss the topic we are most passionate about – how and why elites subvert civilization. This phenomenon was thrown into sharp relief by the catastrophic failings of leadership that exacerbated the devastating LA fires last month. But the winds of destruction have given way to the winds of change.

• It's been incredible to watch Republicans steal the save-the-whales issue.

• CW has been at the forefront of research into the ecological disasters associated with industrial wind development, affecting the vitality of some of the planet’s most majestic megafauna.

• President Trump followed through on his campaign promise to pause and review offshore wind leases, a significant step towards saving the North Atlantic Right Whale from the wind energy lobby, green sell-outs, and fake journalists.

• In the wake of the EO, Shell has abandoned their whale-killing wind project & written off $1 billion. But the fight's not over so please keep sharing the truth!

• California’s attack on cheap energy diverted funding that could have been used to double the firefighters' budget. The causes of the LA fires present yet another example of the anti-civilization ideology that has captured Western elites, evident in the defunding of firefighters, the draining of reservoirs, and the incentivizing of homelessness.

Homelessness, Addiction and Crime

• The attack on law and order and equal justice resulted in the nonenforcement of many laws, including against illegal public camping, which has resulted in twice as many fires for firefighters to respond to, thereby depleting their ability to prepare for and pre-deploy to potentially catastrophic fires.

• The LA fires show that Wokeism has real-world implications, including for the affluent progressives of Los Angeles who had most strongly endorsed it. They may even come to see the need for Cal-Psych and require the homeless to go inside.

• I appeared on the Dad Saves America podcast to discuss how DEI threatens the meritocratic pillar of civilization, and thus public safety.

CW rejects the destructive philosophy of nihilism and embraces one of life-affirming human agency. That means we can prevent catastrophic fires, end homelessness, and restore merit as the principle for organizing our civilization. With your support, we can save civilization.
