Australia Update

I traveled to Australia to defeat their misinformation bill, and we won! While in Canberra, I met with other free speech lovers and the wise and just representatives of the Australian people opposed to totalitarian attempts to censor the entire internetand criminalize any speech. I also spoke with the Institute of Public Affairs in Sydney.

Now back on U.S. soil, I reflected on the Free Speech victory down-under in an interview with Sky News Australia. We discussed their incoming age verification legislation, which could allow the Australian government to mandate digital IDs under the guise of “child safety.”

While we are also concerned about the impact of social media on children, the proposed extraordinary powers in Australia could constitute an invasion of everyone’s privacy and there is a strong likelihood that the misinformation bill may be resurrected again in the future. The battle may be won, but the war on Free Speech continues and CW is on the front lines.

Other CW Updates

Meanwhile, across the United States, people who voted for Kamala Harris have been reacting with shock, sadness, and anger at the results. But elections are won on the margins, and what made the difference between 2020 and 2024 was the defection of so many traditionally Democratic voters.

These results are nothing short of a massive political realignment, and the election result provides Civilization Works with an opportunity to accomplish our goals for free speech, the environment, and gender – and we’re already hard at work!

On election night I joined The Free Press for their election night coverage live in NYC, and I appeared alongside fellow Lefugee and real life American hero, Tusli Gabbard, on Gutfeld!

In October I appeared on another Joe Rogan podcast, and we talked for over three hours about government censorship, the drug crisis, and other abuses of power.

We also held our first whole-organization retreat and board meeting in Napa, where we solidified CW’s overall strategy and vision. For more information about any of the program updates below, please don’t hesitate to contact CW’s Director of Development and Events, Bryony Dixon

Free Speech

  • Last month I was a guest on the Morning Wire, discussing the elitist view that censorship of the internet as a “must have” not just a “nice to have.” People thought the Internet would make censorship impossible. It turns out to have made global totalitarianism possible, which is why protecting free speech online is one of our highest priorities at CW.

  • We’ve recently seen Bill Gates appear in a Netflix documentary calling for AI powered censorship, John Kerry complaining that the First Amendment is an obstacle to containing misinformation, and Hillary Clinton lamenting that social media prevents the powers-that-be from maintaining “total control.” We are working on tracking these and other elite efforts to censor speech, and we will soon publish a report on leaders of the Censorship Industrial Complex (CIC) that we hope will support incoming federal policy initiatives to dismantle the sprawling censorship apparatus and restore Free Speech.

  • We are thrilled to announce that CW has hired an International Free Speech Manager, Evan Riggs! Evan has a commitment to open discourse and comes to us with a background in media, events, and marketing.

Gender

  • CW’s Director of Gender, Mia Hughes, was invited to speak at a Stanford Classical Liberalism Seminar in October, where she offered an in-depth examination of how psychiatric epidemics arise, spread, and disappear. Mia discussed the cultural forces that have resulted in skyrocketing numbers of young people identifying as transgender.

  • Prominent detransitioner, Chloe Cole, weighed in on my assertion on Rogan that the Left is engaged in the horrible medical mistreatment of gay children.

  • The goals of CW’s Gender program are now within reach, given the policy changes promised by the incoming administration which include passing a law banning so-called “gender-affirming care” for minors in all 50 states and investigating the coverup of this medical scandal by Big Pharma and hospital networks.

Homelessness, Addiction and Crime

  • We’ve been updating our data counts on homelessness, crime and addiction in major states and cities across the U.S.

  • The trends we identified in San Fransicko continue, with several escalating in the past three years. We found that the homeless population grew 31% in California & only 3% in the rest of the U.S. between 2010-2023.

  • Shockingly, as of 2024, California deaths from drug overdose have more than doubled compared to 2018. Drug overdose is now the leading cause of death in Californians under 45, and fentanyl is involved in a majority of these deaths.

  • We will soon begin updating and summarizing this data on CW’s website on an annual basis. This will make it available to advocates working alongside us on this issue.

Energy and Environment

  • Our fight to save the whales made waves on another historic Joe Rogan podcast, when Donald Trump discussed the devastating impact of Industrial wind development on endangered whale species. The media said Trump lied, but he didn't. In fact, it's worse than Trump said. If the wind industry continues with its boats, noise, and vibrations, it will make the North Atlantic right whale extinct.

  • Rogan retweeted my post corroborating Trump’s comments, which has now been seen by over 6.9 million people.

  • CW’s own Energy and Environment Director, Lisa Linowes, said: "Earlier this year, the Save Right Whale Coalition released a report that documented a strong correlation between the increase in whale deaths and offshore wind activity along the U.S. east seaboard. Our data focused on the dramatic increase in vessel traffic within the wind lease areas beginning in 2016 as developers conducted sonar surveys of the seabed in preparation for construction. As the amount of offshore wind activity increased within an area, so did whale deaths. When pile driving to install wind turbines was initiated in spring 2023 in southern New England waters, additional whale deaths were observed."

  • We will soon begin additional research on this pressing issue, looking at whale deaths around the world.

Only truth can save the whales. And CW is committed to analyzing the facts, wherever that may lead. Together, we can and we will defend the pillars of civilization.
